BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (TROPHY, WEEK 1)

It was a bumper first weekend of the new BCB season with many standout performances and game-changing moments that made the opening round of the Trophy competition unforgettable.

 Here are the main five that comprise the first BCB Team of the Week for the season.

Ty Nsangu – Hemel Storm

It was a debut to savour for Ty Nsangu, as he led Hemel Storm to an 85-80 road win over the Loughborough Riders. Nsangu, who joined Hemel from Reading in the off-season, went 14-for-19 from the field and erupted for 30 points, 20 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Mo Walker – Aldermore Reading Rockets

Mo Walker enjoyed a solid home debut for the Aldermore Reading Rockets as he amassed 27 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and three steals, all without committing a single turnover in Reading’s 80-54 triumph over London Cavaliers.

Greg Wild – Yorkshire Dragons

 A BCB newcomer made an epic first impression, as Yorkshire Dragons guard Greg Wild went 6-for-13 from three-point range for 33 points, along with six rebounds and six assists in his side’s 97-92 overtime win over the Signs Express Falkirk Fury. Before his 30-point game against the Fury, Wild chipped in with 14 points in a narrow defeat to Newcastle Knights.

Ben Baker-McCann – Bristol Hurricanes

Ben Baker-McCann was the toast of Bristol over the weekend, as he guided the Hurricanes to a 104-72 victory over the Bristol Flyers II. Baker went for 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals in a sublime showing.

Luke House – Newcastle Knights

Completing the debutants list on opening week is Newcastle Knights’ Luke House, who enjoyed a stellar performance in his side’s 90-80 victory over the Yorkshire Dragons. House had 28 points on 4-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc and 66 percent overall. He also had three rebounds and two steals.
