In week 10, there were some fantastic performances, and we’ve narrowed it down to the top five.
Hafeez Abdul (Newcastle Knights)
Since arriving back on Tyneside earlier in the season, Hafeez Abdul has further strengthened the Newcastle Knights’ title credentials, and Abdul was sizzling this weekend against Derby Trailblazers and Reading Rockets.
Abdul hit nine triples against the Trailblazers on his way to 42 points and 11 rebounds. He also had two assists and two steals in the 94-85 victory. The British wing then connected on another five three-pointers for 20 points in the 95-93 success over the Reading Rockets.
Michael Joiner (Loughborough Riders)
When Loughborough Riders needed Michael Joiner the most, he delivered. Loughborough needed overtime to edge the Bristol Hurricanes 92-88 in a thrilling battle, and Joiner was outstanding, leading the way with 36 points on 66 percent shooting, seven rebounds, and five steals.
Victor Olarerin (Reading Rockets)
Victor Olarerin was a lightning bolt for the Reading Rockets in their deserved 97-85 road win over the title-chasing Yorkshire Dragons. The skilled guard had 29 points, eight rebounds and five steals in the win. Sadly for the Rockets, their northern odyssey didn’t end with two wins, but Olarerin added 21 points in the loss to Newcastle.
Mike New Jr. (Milton Keynes Breakers)
Mike New Jr. flirted with a double-double in the Milton Keynes Breakers’ 98-64 away win against the Worthing Thunder. New Jr. had 18 points, nine rebounds and two steals, shooting 7-for-9 from the floor in a polished performance.
JaRon Thames (Newcastle Knights)
The Molten November Player of the Month, JaRon Thames has continued his form into December, and he was a key part of the Newcastle Knights’ statement weekend against Derby and Reading. Thames had 28 points on 9-for-12 shooting against Reading to go with six rebounds and eight assists. Before that, he had 12 points, 6 rebounds and one block against Derby.
