Share
The first BCB game day of 2026 brought unforgettable games and memorable performances.
There were a lot of players that stood out in Week 12, but only five could be selected. Here are the top five from the weekend just gone.
Miles Brown (Essex Rebels)
Essex Rebels’ Miles Brown is making a habit of being in the BCB Team of the Week. The recently crowned Molten Player of the Month for December makes his third appearance on the list in four weeks, and it’s easy to see why, as he led his team to a 104-92 success over the Yorkshire Dragons.
Brown had 30 points, 10 assists and four steals, going 10-for-18 from the field with four of those field goals coming from three-point range.
Bradley Dean (Newcastle Knights)
Newcastle Knights have been involved in three overtime games this season, and for the first time in the BCB era, they battled the City of Birmingham Rockets into three extra periods.
Led by Bradley Dean, the Knights edged past the Rockets to maintain their grip on the top spot. Dean had 35 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in the 111-108 victory.
Tyrone Williams (Nottingham Hoods)
After a run of seven straight losses, the Nottingham Hoods finally got themselves in the win column with a comfortable 103-73 win over Bristol Flyers II.
At the heart of the win was Tyrone Williams, as he posted 25 points on 50 percent shooting, six rebounds, nine assists and four steals in a stellar showing that could kick start their season in 2026.
Malcolm Smith (Derby Trailblazers)
For Malcolm Smith, there’s no place like home. The veteran made his return to the Derby Trailblazers and made a solid start to his second spell, having rejoined from the SLB outfit, Newcastle Eagles.
Smith bagged a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in the 76-73 road win over the Worthing Thunder, as he settled back into his familiar surroundings again.
Jax Bouknight (Aldermore Reading Rockets)
Aldermore Reading Rockets kept up with the pace set by Newcastle Knights at the summit as the Berkshire outfit edged the London Cavaliers 96-93, led by nippy guard Jax Bouknight.
The American recorded back-to-back 30-point games, scoring 32 points, including big plays down the stretch that led the Rockets to the victory.
