There are some fresh faces in this week’s BCB Team of the Week as the second half of the season is now in full swing.
Here are this week’s top five who put on stellar displays.
Jai Pathmarajah (Derby Trailblazers)
Last season, Derby Trailblazers guard Jai Pathmarajah brought energy in spurts off the bench. This season, he has developed into one of the team’s key offensive players, along with his usual hustle on defence.
This is highlighted by his majestic performance against the Essex Rebels, where Pathmarajah had 35 points on 72 percent shooting, eight assists and five steals in Derby’s convincing 117-80 win.
Daniel Braster (London Cavaliers)
London Cavaliers played spoiler to Taylor Johnson’s last game with the Hemel Storm, and in particular, Daniel Braster. The versatile American posted a monster double-double of 25 points and 16 rebounds in the Cavs’ 105-88 victory at Hemel.
Bryce Johnson (Nottingham Hoods)
Nottingham Hoods have finally captured their form with back-to-back wins over the Bristol Flyers II. Their latest was a 92-71 win with Bryce Johnson leading the way, shooting 6-for-9 from the floor to finish with 20 points and 11 rebounds, five of which came from the offensive glass.
Bradley Dean (Newcastle Knights)
Newcastle Knights seem to thrive in pressure situations, either needing overtime or scoring a game-winning basket to win games. They performed the latter again this week in their 88-86 success over the Bristol Hurricanes, with Bradley Dean the star, leading the league leaders with 29 points and six boards.
Eric Donaldson (City of Birmingham Rockets)
Eric Donaldson led an efficient City of Birmingham Rockets side this weekend, as they outclassed Worthing Thunder 105-73 on the south coast. Donaldson filled the statsheet with 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
