BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 15)

BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 15)

Week 15 of BCB action saw the guards come out to play with exceptional performances across the board.

A special mention goes to Loughborough Riders’ Jalen Cook, who went for 43 points and seven rebounds in his side’s loss to the Aldermore Reading Rockets, but as per the criteria of Team of the Week, the player needs to be on a winning team.

Victor Olarerin (Aldermore Reading Rockets)

Victor Olarerin’s tremendous double-double countered Jalen Cook’s 40-point effort, as the Londoner led the Aldermore Reading Rockets to an 89-83 win over the Loughborough Riders in Sunday’s sole fixture.

Olarerin had 30 points, pulled down six offensive boards and 12 rebounds overall along with four steals in a winning display that kept up the pace at the top of the BCB standings.

JaRon Thames (Newcastle Knights)

Whatever Reading can do, so can their co-leaders, Newcastle Knights, as they defeated the Essex Rebels 113-103 in an offensive-minded battle. JaRon Thames, once again, produced the goods. Thames led the way with 31 points on 13-for-18 shooting, seven rebounds and four assists in the win.

Tyrone Williams (Nottingham Hoods)

Tyrone Williams is leading a Nottingham Hoods revival in 2026, as the East Midlands side has gone four games unbeaten, with Saturday’s 96-78 road win over the Bristol Hurricanes their latest success. Williams had 22 points, four rebounds and six assists in a sublime all-round effort in the victory.

Zack Powell (City of Birmingham Rockets)

City of Birmingham Rockets came back from a 15-point deficit to record their fourth win in a row against the Hemel Storm. Zack Powell was in the driver’s seat for the Rockets, leading all scorers with 30 points and five assists as they scored a deserved 101-86 road win in Hemel Hempstead.

Ronald Blain (City of Birmingham Rockets)

Supporting Powell is a mainstay American Ronald Blain, who added 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting, seven rebounds and three steals for the City of Birmingham Rockets as they continue their blistering form at a good time in the season with the BCB Trophy final against the Yorkshire Dragons coming up on March 28.
