BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 19)

BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 19)

On a week where the top four established their dominance in the BCB, there were a plethora of standout performances where at least three different line-ups could have been chosen.

However, Week 19 produced a stacked squad with five players who, as per the rules of the Team of the Week, need to be from the winning side.

AJ Roberts (London Cavaliers)

London Cavaliers’ AJ Roberts was in fine form on Saturday as he put Worthing Thunder to the sword. Roberts flirted with a triple-double, going for 21 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. In his haul, he drilled four three-pointers, playing all 40 minutes in the 96-89 success.

 Jai Pathmarajah (Derby Trailblazers)

Jai Pathmarajah is having a breakout season for the Derby Trailblazers, and his performance in the 104-82 win over the Bristol Hurricanes was another shining example of how vital he has been in Derby’s push to the playoffs. Pathmarajah went a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line and shot 50 percent from the field for a game-high 27 points along with five assists.

 Messiah Jones (Newcastle Knights)

There were five Newcastle Knights’ players who reached double figures in their 109-83 win over the Loughborough Riders on Tyneside. Among them was Messiah Jones, who put on a blistering 19 points on 8-for-13 shooting, eight rebounds and two steals to keep the north-east outfit at the summit.

DaShawn Jackson (MK Breakers)

Milton Keynes Breakers were the team up to the task of snapping the City of Birmingham Rockets’ nine-game unbeaten run, with DaShawn Jackson going for 22 points, five rebounds and two blocks in a narrow 79-78 victory.

 Corey Johnson (Yorkshire Dragons)

It was a great weekend for the Yorkshire Dragons as they scored a pair of wins to strengthen their playoff aspirations. The man at the heart of it all was evergreen Corey Johnson, who had 22 points and seven assists in the slender 84-81 win over the Essex Rebels at home, before amassing a well-rounded 11 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in the 91-72 victory on the road to the Bristol Flyers II.
