BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 2)

BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 2)

It was another exciting weekend of action in the BCB with many standout performances across the country as well as unforgettable contests.

It was a hard task, selecting this week's Team of the Week, but here are the top picks.

Sam Newman (Hemel Storm)

Sam Newman landed in the history books as he secured the BCB’s first-ever triple-double in Hemel Storm’s 111-80 win over Loughborough Riders on Saturday. The British guard was outstanding in all aspects, as he posted 11 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists, along with six steals, shooting 3-for-4 from three-point land.

Adrian Scarborough (Worthing Thunder)

Much like he did last season with the Milton Keynes Breakers, forward Adrian Scarborough was earning his reputation as ‘Mr. Double-double’. The Worthing Thunder forward posted 16 points and 10 rebounds in their 90-70 win over the Yorkshire Dragons on the south coast.

Raheem May-Thompson (Derby Trailblazers)

Derby Trailblazers scored an 89-77 road win over the Bristol Hurricanes, which was helped by Raheem May-Thompson’s business-like 20 points and nine rebounds. The British veteran shot an impressive 7-for-10 for his haul.

Ty Nsangu (Reading Rockets)

Ty Nsangu managed an impressive double-double in just 26 minutes to guide the Reading Rockets to a 97-50 victory over Bristol Flyers II. Nsangu shot 66 percent from the field for his 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. The Londoner also swatted away three shots, holding his personal block party at Loddon Valley.

Jeron Thames (Newcastle Knights)

Jeron Thames produced an eye-catching performance in Newcastle Knights’ phenomenal 128-123 double-overtime win over Milton Keynes Breakers. Thames led the Knights with 33 points on 54 percent shooting, eight rebounds and five assists in what was arguably one of the games of the season so far.
