BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 4)

BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 4)

An action-packed Saturday of BCB action saw some tremendous individual performances as the Championship campaign is in full swing.

Here are this week’s top performers from the games across the country.

JaRon Thames (Newcastle Knights)

JaRon Thames was in blistering form as he helped the Newcastle Knights bag an 83-67 win over a tough London Cavaliers side in the north-east on Saturday afternoon.

Thames shot a deadly 10-for-17 from the field, including two three-pointers for 29 points, and pulled down three offensive boards for 10 in total to collect a double-double.

Nicholas Lewis (Yorkshire Dragons)

Nicholas Lewis makes back-to-back appearances in the Team of the Week, and since his move to Yorkshire from SLB side Manchester Basketball, he has shown just how explosive a player he can be at both ends of the floor.

As he has done regularly this season, Lewis flirted with a triple-double again in Yorkshire Dragons’ 103-92 victory over Hemel Storm. The guard had 17 points, 10 assists and seven steals in a hard-working display.

Tomide Akinsuku (Loughborough Riders)

Loughborough Riders were merciless in their 106-52 victory over the Bristol Flyers II, shooting 51 percent from the floor and out-rebounding their counterparts 52-32, and forcing the Flyers into 30 turnovers, scoring 29 points off those giveaways.

Tomide Akinsuku was outstanding, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, shooting 7-for-10 from the field and dominating close to the basket throughout the game.

Justin Hopkins (Worthing Thunder)

Worthing Thunder remained unbeaten in the Championship with a confident 92-79 win over Essex Rebels, with Justin Hopkins the standout.

Hopkins was 12-for-17 from the floor, missing just four shots from two-point range, going for 27 points and 10 rebounds, with five of those boards coming on the offensive glass.

David Ulph (Yorkshire Dragons)

David Ulph’s strong start to the season continues for the Yorkshire Dragons as he matched Lewis’ tally with a double-double in his own right.

The British forward shot 66 per cent from the field for 17 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, adding four assists and three steals to his statline in the win over Hemel Storm.
