BCB TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 6)

There are three new faces in the BCB Team of the Week following the sixth week of league action.

Highlighting the versatility and talent of the BCB, the trio features a veteran, a returning figure, and a player taking advantage of their first start of the season.

However, two familiar faces are included, one of whom takes the Player of the Week award for his efforts in Colchester on Sunday, as the five players featured shot a whopping 67.3 percent from the field combined this weekend.

Justin Hopkins (Worthing Thunder)

Worthing Thunder’s Justin Hopkins caught fire against the Essex Rebels, who were unable to extinguish that flame all game long. Hopkins shot a jaw-dropping 12-for-14 from the floor and went 13-for-14 from the foul line for 40 points and 10 rebounds, helping the Thunder to a convincing 132-85 win, where the league leaders shot a whopping 60 percent from the floor.

Taylor Johnson (Hemel Storm)

One of British basketball’s most prolific scorers made his home debut one to remember on Saturday night, as Taylor Johnson had 30 points on 64 percent shooting, five rebounds and four steals in Hemel Storm’s hard-fought 83-75 win over the Bristol Hurricanes.

Miles Brown (Essex Rebels)

In a mixed weekend for the Essex Rebels, for the second weekend running, Miles Brown stood out. He filled the statsheet with 28 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and two steals in Essex’s 90-87 road win against City of Birmingham Rockets. In the loss to Worthing the following day, Brown had 23 points, four assists and four steals.

Mo Walker (Derby Trailblazers)

Veteran Mo Walker makes his first appearance in the Team of the Week with a virtuoso performance for the Derby Trailblazers in their 88-78 win over the Bristol Flyers II. The former Leicester Riders big man had 24 points on 9-for-13 shooting, along with nine rebounds and two blocks.

Jai Pathmarajah (Derby Trailblazers)

Earning his first start of the season, Jai Pathmarajah didn’t disappoint. The energetic Derby Trailblazers guard led Derby with shot 60 percent from the floor for 27 points, five rebounds and eight assists against Bristol.
