BCB TEAM OF THE YEAR

BCB TEAM OF THE YEAR

The first season of British Championship Basketball has seen these players impress crowds across the country.

And with the Playoff final (May 3) and All-Star Game (May 10) wrapping up an unforgettable campaign, the league is delighted to announce its inaugural 2025-26 BCB Team of the Year, as voted by the head coaches and board of the BCB.

Victor Olarerin (Aldermore Reading Rockets)

London native Victor Olarerin started all 28 games for the Aldermore Reading Rockets, leading the team with 18.9 points per game on 46 percent shooting, while also contributing 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals. His standout performance came in October, when he exploded for 51 points against the Essex Rebels. Above all, he played a key role in steering Reading to the BCB league title.

JaRon Thames (Newcastle Knights)

The leading scorer in the BCB at 25.9 points, JaRon Thames has been an offensive flamethrower for the Newcastle Knights this season, and what’s been impressive about his scoring exploits is his ability to put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways, whether it be from beyond the arc, where he shot 32 percent or from inside, where he averages 61 percent. What has impressed many about Thames this season is his mental toughness, playing the full 40 minutes in four of the last five games and 12 overall, including extra overtime shifts.

Jordan Spencer (Milton Keynes Breakers)

Veteran guard Jordan Spencer delivered an outstanding campaign for the Milton Keynes Breakers, leading them to a fourth-place finish in the league and a spot in the playoff semi-finals. He started all 26 games he featured in, missing just two through minor injuries. The Milton Keynes standout averaged 16.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game, with a Valentine’s Day triple-double - 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists - standing out as a season highlight.

Tyrone Williams (Nottingham Hoods)

The lynchpin behind the resurgence of the Nottingham Hoods following a dreadful start to the league season, Tyrone Williams, put up incredible numbers to guide the East Midlands side to the playoffs, highlighted by a triple-double of 32 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the 109-69 win over the London Cavaliers, Williams averaged 23.2 points per game, along with 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals.

Miles Brown (Essex Rebels)

A volume scorer, pesky defender and all-round talented player, Essex Rebels’ Miles Brown has been one of the most exciting players to watch in the BCB this season. While injuries played a factor in his season with Joe Hart’s side, averaging 24.7 points per game, a whopping 4.0 steals, alongside 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists. Those averages included a 50-point game against the Newcastle Knights in late-November, in which he also had 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.
