BCB WEEK 15: DRAGONS RETURN TO WINNING WAYS; HOODS MAKE IT FOUR IN A ROW

While there was no change at the top of the BCB table, teams fighting for spots in the post-season saw returns to form at the right time.
One game was postponed after the Derby Trailblazers' clash with the London Cavaliers was unable to be played. A rescheduled date will be announced as soon as possible.

Yorkshire Dragons (8-7) returned to winning emphatically as they convincingly beat Worthing Thunder (9-6) 108-81.
The Dragons shot an impressive 57 per cent from the field, as they took advantage of a Thunder side that could only manage 35 percent from the floor and went a subpar 25-for-39 from the foul line.
Corey Johnson led seven Yorkshire players in double figures with 19 points and 10 assists as the Dragons grabbed their first win following six straight losses. Elijah Maynard led all scorers for Worthing with 27 points and four steals.
City of Birmingham Rockets (9-4), who, along with Yorkshire, will face off in the BCB Trophy final on March 28, were also victorious, overturning the Hemel Storm (3-11) 101-86.
Zach Powell led the way for the Rockets with 30 points, with Ronald Blain adding 26 points. Brayden Inger led Hemel with a 22-point, 11-rebound double-double.
While Yorkshire are looking to turn the corner, and Birmingham motor on the Nottingham Hoods (7-8) are starting to aim for playoff places after they secured their fourth win in a row by downing the Bristol Hurricanes (2-12) 96-78 on the road.
Lightning-quick British guard Sam Akano led the way with 23 points, supported by 22 from Tyrone Williams, as the Hoods used a strong second half to outscore Bristol 52-36 and secure the victory. Daniel Edozie had a double-double of 19 points and 11 boards to pace the Hurricanes.
Newcastle Knights (13-2) bounced back from their loss against the London Cavaliers last weekend by beating the Essex Rebels (7-8) 113-103 to remain near the top of the standings.
JaRon Thames paced the Knights with 31 points on an impressive 13-for-18 from the field. He also pulled down seven rebounds, as well as four assists and three steals in an exceptional performance.
Miles Brown had 22 points and eight assists for the Rebels.
Whatever Newcastle can do, the Aldermore Reading Rockets (13-1) can also do, as they stayed at the summit of the BCB standings with the Knights, following a hard-fought 89-83 success at home to the Loughborough Riders (3-12) in Sunday’s sole game.
Despite a career afternoon from Riders’ Jalen Cook, who had 43 points and seven rebounds, Loughborough couldn’t stop all-action Victor Olarerin, who enjoyed a double-double of 30 points and 12 boards along with four steals.
Milton Keynes Breakers (11-4) kept up its blistering form by downing the Bristol Flyers II (0-15) 101-60. DaShawn Jackson had 19 points for the breakers in a balanced scoring effort that saw five players score in double digits.
