ELDERKIN'S UNBEATEN MONTH LANDS HIM COACH OF THE MONTH HONOURS

Newcastle Knights head coach Mark Elderkin has scooped the Molten Coach of the Month award for December after yet another solid month for the Tyneside outfit.

Through Elderkin’s leadership and his team’s execution, the Knights have some separation at the top of the BCB standings going into the second half of the season.

Newcastle would end the festive period with a flawless 3-0 mark, starting with a comfortable 94-85 win at home to the Derby Trailblazers.

Elderkin’s side followed that with what could be a pivotal 95-93 victory against the Aldermore Reading Rockets in a thriller decided by a score from JaRon Thames with three seconds left.

The Knights would end the month of December with a 95-82 win over the Nottingham Hoods.
