HEMEL'S TOM BAKER STORMS TO COACH OF THE MONTH HONOURS

Hemel Storm head coach Tom Baker has been named the BCB Coach of the Month for September after guiding his side to a flawless start in the BCB Trophy.

Baker led the Storm to a perfect 4-0 record in a competitive Midlands group, which also featured the Milton Keynes Breakers, Oaklands Wolves, Loughborough Riders and reigning holders City of Birmingham Rockets.

Hemel averaged an impressive 93 points per game across the group, combining attacking firepower with four important victories to secure top spot and a place in the quarter-finals.

The Storm opened their campaign with a hard-fought 85-80 victory over Loughborough, before producing one of their most impressive performances of the group stage against the holders.

Hemel overwhelmed Birmingham 98-73, establishing themselves as serious contenders for the trophy and maintaining their perfect record.

They followed that result with another convincing display against NBL Division 1 opposition, defeating Oaklands 90-74 to move to 3-0.

With qualification already in the bag, the Storm completed the job in style against Milton Keynes. A 99-93 victory ensured Hemel finished the group stage unbeaten and claimed first place.

The four wins highlighted Baker’s impact on the team, with the Storm consistently producing high-scoring performances throughout September.
