Aldermore Reading Rockets guard Jax Bouknight has captured the Molten BCB Player of the Month honours after guiding his side to an unbeaten start to the New Year.
Bouknight’s performances were inspired by his family visiting him in January and witnessing him average 17.2 points on 32.5 percent from three-point land, 6.0 assists and 1.7 steals, showcasing his talent at both ends of the floor.
And in turn, that led to the Rockets posting a perfect 4-0 record in January, as they kept up the pace at the top of the BCB table along with Newcastle Knights.
The American came up big down the stretch for the Rockets in their narrow 96-93 road win over the London Cavaliers to start 2026, hitting six three-pointers and exploding for 32 points, three assists and two steals.
Bouknight not only showed his scoring ability but also his grit, attacking the basket at will in the hard-fought 83-73 away win against the Loughborough Riders, finishing with 12 points, four of those at the foul line, six assists and two steals. In the return game, while the quick point guard didn’t set the statsheet on fire, he did the intangibles that you don’t see come up on the stats.
The American’s leadership helped Reading to an 89-83 victory in that game. Sandwiched in between the two games with the Riders came a 105-77 win over the Hemel Storm, where Bouknight amassed 22 points and dished out 12 assists in a sublime double-double that saw him shoot 7-for-10 from the field and hit four triples.
