SAFE AS HOUSES: LUKE HOUSE GRABS PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER

Luke House has been named the BCB Player of the Month for September after helping Newcastle Knights finish top of the North group of the BCB Trophy.

The American, in his first season on Tyneside, played a key role in guiding the Knights through the tightest group in the competition, producing consistently strong performances while adapting to different roles.

House started just two of Newcastle’s four games but still averaged 22.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He shot 51 percent from the floor and an impressive 51 percent from three-point range.

House made an immediate impact in Newcastle’s opening game, scoring 28 points, including four three-pointers from six attempts, in an 80-70 victory over the Yorkshire Dragons.

He followed that with 18 points and seven rebounds against Signs Express Falkirk Fury, although his efforts were not enough to prevent a 91-81 defeat.

Despite the setback, House responded in style, producing an all-round display of 26 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals as the Knights beat the Nottingham Hoods 112-94.

House then capped the month with 16 points and six rebounds in an 87-71 victory over the Derby Trailblazers, securing the top spot in the group and completing an outstanding September.
