City of Birmingham Rockets overcame the Yorkshire Dragons 85-66 in the inaugural BCB Trophy final at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Nottingham on Saturday afternoon.
It marked the first-ever trophy in British Championship Basketball history, with Birmingham's name proudly etched on the trophy after a clinical performance in which they led for the majority of the game, their biggest lead at 26 points.
Eric Donaldson won the Molten BCB Trophy MVP award, as he bagged 19 points on a flawless 7-for-7 from the field and 4-for-4 from the foul line. He also had seven rebounds in what was a stellar showing, fitting for the big stage.
Zack Powell added 18 points, with Ronald Blain finally breaking his finals jinx, as he chipped in with 16 points and six assists, claiming his first winners' medal in his sixth final in the country.
As a team, Birmingham were clinical throughout, after a shaky beginning, as Yorkshire found tremendous success in attacking the basket and getting to the foul line, but the Rockets regrouped and ended up shooting 51 percent from the floor, compared to just 32 percent from the Dragons.
Jordan Jefferson paced Yorkshire with 15 points, with David Ulph adding a monster double-double of 12 points and a mammoth 21 rebounds - 11 of those coming on the offensive glass.
