CHARLES SMITH SCOOPS COACH OF THE MONTH HONOURS

City of Birmingham Rockets head coach Charles Smith has been named as the Molten BCB Coach of the Month for September.

Claiming the inaugural coaching award, Smith masterminded a perfect 3-0 record for the Rockets in the BCB Trophy, beating Milton Keynes Breakers, Hemel Storm and the Bristol Hurricanes, with two of those wins coming on the road.

Under Smith's guidance, the Rockets have averaged 46 percent from the floor in the group phase and have played an exciting brand of basketball ahead of Saturday's quarter-final tie against the Loughborough Riders.

After a stellar playing career that spanned 14 years, Smith won an incredible 21 titles with 15 of those coming with the Newcastle Eagles. 

Now in his second season with the Rockets as head coach, Smith looks to guide his side to the success he enjoyed as a player.
