About the Club

The Essex Rebels are a professional men’s basketball team based in Colchester, Essex. Formerly known as the Essex Blades, the club officially became the Essex Rebels in 2018 and now represents the county’s only professional basketball team. The Rebels are recognised for their multi-award-winning gameday entertainment and their commitment to
growing the sport within the community. Beyond the professional team, the Essex Rebels support player development through links with the Essex Rebels Junior Basketball Club, which has over 250 players, as well as a performance pathway for student-athletes at the
University of Essex.
