Before a full round of BCB Trophy games this weekend, there were three exciting encounters in midweek as the Nottingham Hoods remain undefeated and there was two nail-biters in Uxbridge and Falkirk.
Nottingham Hoods bagged their second win of the Trophy by turning a double-digit first quarter deficit into three quarters of solid team basketball for a 93-77 victory over Loughborough Riders.
Tyronne Williams was the figurehead for Nottingham in their win with 23 points and 9 rebounds, scoring six of those in a 23-11 second quarter to turn a 26-16 Riders lead into a 39-37 Hoods advantage at the break.
Despite a few lead changes in the third, the Hoods broke away towards the latter stages to record the win and remain unbeaten in the Trophy.
Michael Joiner had a team-high 19 points for Loughborough, who were plagued by 21 turnovers, which Nottingham converted into 28 points, while the Hoods only gave up the ball nine times.
London Cavaliers nearly saw a 25-point lead disappear before coming away with an 89-85 win over the Essex Rebels.
Nerves settled as the Cavaliers stumble over the finish line. The win is certainly the most important stat for Nigel Lloyd's men, as American Daniel Braster led the victors with a game-high 34 points and 7 rebounds.
Miles Brown led the Rebels with 22 points, but fall to their second defeat in as many games.
Falkirk Fury produced the most heroic of comebacks as they ousted Edinburgh Blaze 111-104 after overtime in the battle of the Scottish League sides.
Down 71-49 in the third quarter, Fury looked down and out but fought back and even took the lead with under ten seconds left until the Blaze forced overtime.
It was there that Jonny Bunyan took over in the extra period, scoring seven points to lead Falkirk to the most incredible of wins.
Fahro Alihodzic posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the winners.
